Hold down mode button while booting switch until you see “The password-recovery mechanism is enabled.”
Enter the command 'flash_init'
Once it says “…done Initializing Flash” run the commands ‘del flash:config.text‘ & ‘del flash:vlan.dat‘
Reboot the switch with the command ‘boot‘
When it says “Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog” enter ‘no’
note:
If you do a ‘sho run | i switch‘ and see something like:
switch 3 provision ws-c2960s-48fps-l
…you need to renumber the switch by issuing the following commands:
no switch 1 provision ws-c2960s-48fps-l
switch 3 renumber 1
reload
